A recent survey conducted by a news channel in major cities across Australia reveals that majority of the people wish to work in the UK followed by Germany, Japan and the US. However, topping the list is Great Britain, for which a whooping 45% of the respondents voted. The major reason cited by them was higher salaries and a more professional approach towards work. But in case you are a citizen of Australia and want to work in Britain, there are a lot of other formalities, which have to be fulfilled before you take up a job there.
The major hurdle is to get the UK visa, which would enable you to fly down to that country. However, the hassles don’t end there. You need to obtain a UK working visa, which permits you to work in that country, without any trouble. In case, the person does not possess a working visa and is caught working, he or she would be subject to legal proceedings. It is considered equivalent to breach of law. But there is no need to worry, since there are many employment agencies, which deal with these, everyday. At a nominal charge, they arrange for a working visa. But it does not happen overnight. It is a time taking process as these agencies act as the link between the customer and the authority granting the permission. They also take care of the working visa for Australian students who want to engage in a part time employment or an employment spanning two to three months. Although the UK offers reciprocol health care for Australian travellers it is reccomended to organise travel insurance prior to your UK trip to safeguard against any unforseen incidents both in Britain and other parts of the EU.
